When to Choose a Medical Doctor

I do believe there is a time and a place for medical intervention.  I want to help you understand when you should choose an MD over going to a natural health practitioner.   When your health is in a trauma situation (ie heart attack, stroke, broken bone, organ failure or any other catastrophic condition) is when our MD's are at their best.  We have the best doctors in the world when its a trauma health situation.  A natural health practitioner won't be able to help someone in this situation.

When you are dealing with a chronic health situation such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, thyroid disease, constipation, sleeping disorders, digestive disorders, swelling, and many many more lables.  This is when you should choose to see a natural health practitioner.  A Naturopath would be more concerned with a whole body approach to health, than just dealing with the symptom.  If you want to discover how you can be healthier than you ever believed you could, then schedule an appt with a natural health consultant and allow him/her to help you make lifestyle changes and educate you on the many different factors that are affecting your health while at the same time eliminating the symptoms that are bringing you down.

Exercise improves Oxygen

I have always been a big fan of exercise. Exercise is a big factor in improving oxygen to the cells. As we get older, most of us live a sedentary life style. Sendentary slows down blood flow, which slows down the absorption of oxygen and other life giving nutrients.

I recommend getting at least 30-40 minutes of moderate to high intensity cardiovascular workout 4-5x per week. We need to stress our heart and elevate the Heart Rate to increase the uptake of oxygen into the cells. By increasing oxygen into the cells of the body you are preventing dis-ease from settling in.

Walking isn't the recommended exercise when trying to increase your heart rate. If you do walk, it should be in the form of power walking. Light jogging, elliptical, stair climbers, jazzercize, aerobics, cycling and circuit training are all great forms of exercise that increase your heart rate.

What is your exercise program and how has exercise affected your health? Please let us know.
